Sarah Carter is a cellist for the Stamford Symphony Orchestra. She enjoys tremendous versatility in her career as a performing artist. As a member of many orchestras, including the American Symphony Orchestra, Opera Orchestra of New York, the Westchester Philharmonic, the American Composers Orchestra, Oratorio Society of New York, the Bard Festival Orchestra and Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, she has had opportunities to play in all the finest concert halls in New York City and the Metropolitan area. An active musician on Broadway, Ms. Carter has been a member of the show orchestra of "Damn Yankees", "The King and I", "Parade", "The Music Man", "Oklahoma", and "Never Gonna Dance" and has subbed on many others. Recent recordings have been with Audra McDonald, Harry Connick Jr., Mandy Patinkin, and Chuck Mangione. Ms. Carter enjoys her studio of private cello students and plays chamber music whenever possible. She lives in Cresskill, NJ with her three children, Emily, Ben and Anna.
