Katsuko Esaki, violin
Katsuko Esaki was born in Tokyo, Japan. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Musashino Music Academy and a Master's degree from Sarah Lawrence College where she studied with Dorothy Delay. Her other teachers have included Ivan Galamian and Itzhak Perlman.  She is a member of the Little Orchestra Society, Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra at Lincoln Center, Stamford Symphony and Arco Ensemble. She is also a member of the Grammy-Award nominated Harmonie Ensemble/New York, with whom she recorded the Dvorak Terzetto on the internationally acclaimed Music& Arts CD “Dvorak Discoveries”.  She also performs with the New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater and the New York Pops. She has recorded on the EMI, Musical Heritage Society, RCA Victor, Angel, Nonesuch, Vox, Melos, Koch International Classics, Bridge, Harmonia Mundi and Atlantic Record labels. Katsuko also recorded with the Modern Jazz Quartet, and performed with Chick Corea, Garrison Keillor and on Saturday Night Live. She was concertmaster of numerous Broadway shows including Dream Girls and Guys and Dolls. She has toured extensively throughout Europe, Japan, the USSR, Mexico, Canada and the U.S. and participated at the Festivals in Aspen, Spoleto, Madeira, and Lacoste (France), along with 20 seasons at the OK Mozart Festival.
