Violinist Susan Lorentsen has been honored and privileged to be a part of the rich New York musical scene for many years. Concerts, Broadway, Chamber Music, Opera, Ballet and Recording are among her many areas of interest. She has performed with every major freelance orchestra in New York, including The American Symphony Orchestra, The New York City Opera, The Metropolitan Opera Guild, Musica Sacra, Solisti and New York Chamber Orchestra. In the classical field Ms. Lorentsen has had the privilege of performing with Itzhak Perlman, Yo Yo Ma, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Pinchas Zuckerman, and many others. On The Great White Way she has appeared in over 20 Broadway shows including Hairspray, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Guys and Dolls, Miss Saigon and Carousel. Ms. Lorentsen has been performing The Radio City Christmas Spectacular as a member of The Radio City Music Hall orchestra for over twenty years. Ms. Lorentsen’s violin can be heard on the soundtracks of In and Out, Hercules, and Marvin’s Room. She has recorded with scores of artists as diverse as Keith Jarrett and Jennifer Holliday, and appeared with Stevie Wonder, Julie Andrews, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Bjork, Gladys Knight and The Pips, Rod Stewart, Page and Plant, and dozens of other artists. Ms. Lorentsen has also recorded numerous commercial jingles for clients like Nokia, Dominos Pizza, Nexium, GNC and many others. Susan Lorentsen has been a proud member of the Stamford Symphony Orchestra for over two decades.
