Nearly 300 "wedding guests" enjoyed the nuptials of Ruslan & Lyudmila on Saturday, October 6, at the Stamford Symphony's Gala and Opening Night Concert.

The Wedding of Ruslan & Lyudmila, sponsored by Pitney Bowes and Virgin Atlantic Airways, began with a cocktails and a wedding feast at UCONN Stamford and was followed by the Symphony's Opening Night concert - SWEEPING ROMANCE - at the Palace Theatre, featuring the music of Glinka (Ruslan & Lyudmila: Overture), Sibelius (Symphony No. 2), and Rachmaninoff (Piano Concerto No. 3), featuring the dazzling pianist, Valentina Lisitsa.

Maestro Eckart Preu and Symphony Board Chairman, Mike Puleo, presented the Conductor's Baton Award to Johnna G. Torsone, Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Pitney Bowes, who accepted the award on behalf of the Stamford-based company.
