Orchestra Classics Series
The full Orchestra plays a series of five Classics concerts for during the course of the season, performing each twice – on Saturday evening at 8:00 and Sunday afternoon at 3:00 – at Stamford’s Palace Theatre. An hour before each concert, Maestro Eckart Preu invites the audience to a Behind the Baton session, where he provides background on the music and offers his perspective on program selections and interpretation.
Mozart & Friends recitals
Mozart & Friends recitals at the Steinway Piano Gallery of Westport are performances by Stamford Symphony musicians in a more intimate setting. The recitals are held on three Sunday afternoons in January, February, and March.
Exploring the Orchestra
These mini-concerts offer young listeners entertaining and imaginative programs that bring their favorite stories to life. Two 45-minute concerts are held on three Sunday afternoons in January, February, and March at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. These concerts are especially appropriate for children aged 4-10, who may find standard concerts too long.
Stern Showcase Recital
This new Stamford Symphony initiative is designed to give performance opportunities to promising young classical musicians with the potential to become tomorrow’s stars.
Pops in the Park
The Stamford Symphony’s free outdoor pops concerts are a perfect way to end a summer day. The Stamford Downtown Special Services District presents the orchestra on Wednesday evenings in July at Columbus Park. Recent guest performers have included Andrea Marcovicci, Joe Piscopo, and Latin Grammy winner Nestor Torres.
