As the world celebrates the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven, the Ferguson Library presents the second of a three part series of lectures given by Stamford Symphony violinist and educator Gabriel Schaff. Part II: Beethoven Demystified - Heroism of the Everyman. This lecture will take place on tonight, Tuesday September 15 at 6pm - watch it directly on the video below.

Patricia Davis plays Arvo Pärt, explains the violin techniques in “Fratres”

Stamford Symphony violinist Patricia Davis demonstrates how Estonian composer Arvo Pärt uses many unusual violin techniques in his composition “Fratres” for violin and piano. She talks about what this piece means to her, and then presents a recording of the full piece she made with pianist Heather Toews.
